Pricing

I strive to keep my pricing structure fair and simple, therefore, my current hourly rate is $65, billed in 15-minute increments.  As a rule of thumb, I am able to complete a basic web site about 10-12 hours.  In addition to the cost for my time, there are a couple other charges that are standard for all web sites:

Domain Registration
This is the fee for registering your "dot.com" address on the Internet.  It currently costs $35 per year with significant discounts if you sign up for five or ten years.  Be careful, though... once you register the domain, it's very difficult to cancel the registration so I usually recommend taking it for a year.  On renewal, you can then decide whether to register a new domain and renew the existing one for several years.

To check the availability of the domain you wish to use, go to www.Register.com or www.NetworkSolutions.com and click on the Search button.

TIP:  Whenever possible, you should try to get the easiest-to-remember domain name, preferably ending in .com (for commercial) or .biz (for business).  And yes, shorter is better!

Web Site Hosting
Once your site has been built, you need a place to store it on the Internet and this is where a web site hosting company comes in.  For as little as $120 per year, I can set you up with my preferred hosting company.  Not only do you get a reliable host for your web site, but many other extras including a complete email solution and the ability to edit your web site online, using Microsoft FrontPage or Microsoft Expression Web software.
